Abstract

Therearemanyclinicalfeaturesofflailarmsyndrome(FAS)thataredifferentfromamyotrophiclateralsclerosis(ALS),suggestingtheyareprobablydifferententities.Studiesonelectrophysiologicaldifferencesbetweenthemarelimitedatpresent,andstillinconclusive.Therefore,weaimedtofindclinicalandneurophysiologicaldifferencesbetweenFASandALS.Eighteenhealthycontrolsubjects,sixFASpatientsandforty-oneALSpatientswererecruited.Theuppermotorneuronsigns(UMNS),split-handindex(SI),restingmotorthreshold(RMT),centralmotorconductiontime(CMCT)wereevaluatedand
